Saturday Matinee: Swimming Cats!

It's the weekend - what better time to catch a movie? Direct from soon-to-be Google subsidiary YouTube - man's greatest-ever invention - it's another edition of Saturday Matinee.

Tonight: a visit to a cat swimming school, as seen in Mr. Mike's Mondo Video.

If you had video of Mark Foley in a Speedo throwing pages into a pool, that would be funny. But not cats, it breaks my heart to see this.

Well, being that I had a cat that loved the water and a dog (a cocker spaniel even) that hated the water, I can't say that I find this film as abhorent as Tree finds it. However, it should be noted that the cats do not swim merrily about; they make for the edge of the pool and dry tiles. They may be better swimmers after taking lessons from their belly- baring bona fide bathing-beauty of an instructor, but I think they prefer a fine bit of catnip followed by nine lives of of very dry catnaps.
